Run Kurast Undercity with a Greater Tribute of Harmony, activate Energy Towers until the reward bar reaches Level 4, then go to the boss for the rune reward. In Diablo 4, Harmony Tributes add rune rewards without needing an upgrade first. While Kurast Undercity remains the direct in-game route, Diablo 4 runes can serve as a separate inventory reference; keep the actual farm focused on Harmony Tributes.

Set up a focused Harmony run

Use a Greater Tribute of Harmony when your goal is a dedicated rune run. Lesser and standard Harmony Tributes also add rune rewards, so you can use those without waiting to upgrade; Greater is the target for this route. Torment 10 or higher is recommended, and racing the reward bar is faster than clearing everything.

Before you start, write down the rune or craft you need and keep the needed ingredients separate from anything you consider spare. A short list prevents an easy mistake: laddering a rune into another craft, then realizing you needed it for your planned recipe.

Stock the Harmony Tributes you plan to spend. Keep at least one fallback route in mind rather than committing every available resource to one session.
Set the difficulty to Torment 10 or higher if that suits your run. Group runs can improve efficiency, so bring a group when that helps you keep a steady pace.
Enter Kurast Undercity and activate Energy Towers while building the reward bar. Use the bar itself as your progress check: reach Level 4 before heading to the boss.
Go to the boss once the bar shows Level 4. The target is a reward-bar race, not a full clear; avoid spending time on extra rooms that do not help complete that objective.

Track drops and protect recipe ingredients

After each run, record the rune haul and how many Tributes remain. A screenshot gives you a quick record to compare against your notes. Judge results only against runs on the same difficulty and in the same region timer band; otherwise, the comparison can mislead you.

Sort your stash by the recipes you actually plan to craft, and mark each missing ingredient before using the Horadric Cube. Do not ladder your last Tal into Ral if Spirit still needs Tal. Likewise, do not spend a rune as surplus until you have checked whether another planned craft needs it.

Keep a recovery plan before continuing. If the next run would leave you with no fallback, stop and save the remaining materials instead of forcing more attempts with an empty stash.

Use targeted rune routes for specific gaps

Lair of Runes is a one-point War Plan node that unlocks fixed Lair Boss rune tables. It is a separate option when you need a particular rune: Jah from Beast in the Ice, Vex from the Butcher, or Thul from Varshan. These targets are for filling a specific gap, while Greater Tribute of Harmony is the focused Kurast Undercity route.

Ohm has no known Lair Boss drop in the supplied route details. The listed Cube craft is 2 Vex plus a Flawless Emerald, so check that you have both Vex before planning to make Ohm. Countess in Forgotten Tower, on floor 5 in Rotspill Delta, Hawezar, is another documented seasonal rune route for players who prefer Waking Nightmare runs.

Your immediate success check is the reward bar at Level 4 before the boss; your post-run check is the rune haul and remaining Tribute count. Do not assume a fixed number of runes per run: record what you actually get, then adjust the next session around the recipe ingredient still missing.

Before the next run, deposit spare materials, write down the rune you still need, and keep D4 items as a separate inventory-planning reference; queue only after you have a clear fallback plan.
